The Wonder that is India

A photographic exploration of Ancient India and SE Asia

India, where I was born and raised, is a land of awesome wonder. Great civilizations flourished here for millennia. Numerous ancient temples and other structures embody drama, mystery and beauty in their enduring architecture.

I am interested in photographing and presenting an artistic and personal interpretation of the details of a variety of Heritage sites, ancient Temples, Forts, Step wells, and other structures across India and SE Asia. I hope they will leave you, as they do me, in a state of awe and wonder and imbued with a sense of admiration and pride.

I plan to show large scale images, with the goal of having the viewer feel like they are in these amazing spaces. I’d like the audience to realize that there is more to India than a few iconic structures and to agree with Lord Curzon when he referred to Indian antiquities as “the greatest galaxy of monuments in the world”.

An oversize book with 108 images showing the diversity in India is planned. Subsequent books about ancient Buddhist and Hindu temples across Asia are also planned.
